GUIDELINES TO FACE-TO-FACE CLASSES

I. BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT THE PROBLEM

On January 30, 2020, the WHO ( World Health Organization) designated the COVID-19 outbreak a worldwide health emergency. COVID-19 was declared as a global pandemic by the WHO on March 11, 2020. Since then Face-to-Face classes have been suspended in most schools. On February 2, 2022, the Department of Education announced that schools under alert level 2 are allowed to commence face-to-face classes for basic education students. The limited face-to-face classes are approved by President Rodrigo Duterte. Most of the schools that are allowed to have limited face-to-face classes are mostly public schools.

II. GUIDELINES IN RETURNING TO FACE TO FACE

GET VACCINATED

Getting vaccinated against COVID-19 can also help your child stay in school and participate in sports and other group activities more safely. Vaccination plays an important role in returning to face-to-face classes, because it helps and protects students from getting symptoms of COVID-19. It is better to get vaccinated to lessen the risk of getting COVID-19 symptoms

PRACTICE SAFE DISTANCING

The technique of allowing enough space between individuals to limit the spread of disease is known as social distancing or physical distancing. Ensure physical distance of at least 6 feet away.

WEAR A MASK

In some circumstances, use a face mask in indoor public venues, such as schools. Whether or not you've been vaccinated, the CDC recommends wearing a well-fitted mask inside in public if you're in an area with a high number of patients with COVID-19 in hospitals and new COVID-19 cases.

KEEP HANDS CLEAN

Hand-washing should be practiced at home with your child, and you should explain why it's necessary to wash his or her hands for at least 20 seconds with soap and water, especially before and after eating, coughing/sneezing, or adjusting a face mask.

CLEAN AND DISINFECT

Cleaning and disinfecting commonly touched surfaces can help reduce the risk of disease, whether your child is educated at home or at school. Doorknobs, faucets, keyboards, tablets, and phones are examples of commonly handled items. Alcohol and sanitizers is the number one thing every student should have. To keep their hands and belongings clean.

STAY HOME IF SICK

Inform your teacher. If you're not feeling well or if you're feeling symptoms of Covid-19 at school, inform your teacher to receive medical care. Regularly check your temperature. It is important to keep in mind your temperature to ensure your and others’ safety as well.

With the use of those guidelines, it can also help the students to have an idea about the virus and how they can prevent themselves from being prone to it. These guidelines can also give awareness to the students and can influence them to be more cautious and responsible in every action they will be doing while attending face to face classes in school.

III. ADVANTAGE

Because the Coronavirus sickness cannot be seen with the naked eye, it is critical to follow the rules in order to reduce the risk of infection, especially given that the country is not fully free of the virus. Following the simple dos and don'ts outlined above can also assist the country in becoming virus-free sooner. It will also limit the danger of people coming into close touch with an infected person, particularly students who are returning to face-to-face classes after taking an online or modular class previously. The implementation of those instructions can also assist students in developing an understanding of the virus and how to avoid becoming infected. These principles can help raise student awareness and influence them to be more cautious and responsible in all actions they take while attending face-to-face school classes.
